who do you think you are?
They’re laughing at you
behind their phones.
Stay in your lane,
Do what you’re told.
But life is short
So why not hit *post*?
Yeah, I’m a try-hard
And they might be laughing
But I want to go places
And I can’t without trying.
I would much rather
fail fantastically,
reaching for something,
Than stay in my lane,
Ever-yearning silently.
Embracing your cringe
Might become the new trend
And I’m so on board
Because I’m so fucking bored
with this concept of cool,
with this pretty façade.
They can laugh and cringe
To their heart’s content
That’s fine by me
I’ll give chase to my dreams.
